Baby Modeling Survival Tips
Here are some tips that can help you get through a day in the life of a parent with a baby
model. They will help you as you try to get in to the biz and should be reread after you’ve done so.
As a matter of fact, print this and put it on your fridge and in your wallet if need be!
- Grow a thick skin. Although you may be sure that your baby is perfect for a specific role, the casting agent may not agree. Don’t take it
personally. Soldier on! Some open calls have hundreds of babies audition for a single role.
|
- Don’t be the green eyed monster and find yourself critiquing someone else’s baby, especially if they’ve won a role that you wanted for
your own baby.
|
- Don’t be a pushy stage Mom or Dad. Watch for signs and symptoms of it in yourself and nip it in the bud if you feel yourself becoming too
aggressive or taking it too personal.
|
- Be a pro. Even if your baby has a bad day and decides to be a fuss, you don’t have to do the same. We all have bad days. Don’t take it
out on anyone and count your blessings on the good days.
|
- Recognize when your child has had enough. Some parents become obsessed with show business and want it even more than their kids do. If
you allow it to take over your life, you’ll rob your baby and yourself of happiness and a childhood. Babyhood will be over in the blink of an
eye and you can’t get it back once it has gone. Keep that in mind when all your time is eaten up at auditions.
|
- Use your agent to your advantage. Don’t blame them if your baby doesn’t become the next Gerber baby. Realize it’s a bit of a gamble and
not everyone hits the big time.
