A good modeling agent knows the business well. They have contacts in the industry that help them learn about modeling gigs and relationships with ad agencies who might give them inside information or special access to go-sees. They will help you get open and closed interviews and will give you honest feedback. They should have enough clients to warrant being in business but not so many that they don’t have time to really work for your baby. They also should not have too many of the same ‘type’ of baby. If they have ten babies that are eight months old with blonde hair and blue eyes, how often will each of those babies get called for an go-see?

Many agents that represent baby or child models are former models themselves. They can understand the business challenges and be very empathetic. Laws and rules are in place to protect kids and an agent that deals with kids exclusively or has many child clients can be a great option for you, especially in the beginning of your baby’s modeling career.
